Because the book is well organized by subject, PG pilots will be able to quickly find and brush up on subjects like airspace, engine maintenance, and an entire chapter dedicated to PG to PPG transition. Wow, I just received my signed copy of the Powered Paragliding Bible from Jeff Goin. Jeff has been working on this for several years and, as a training manual for PPG and even PG pilots, it's a wealth of information, and it's very, very well done. Clearly Illustrated with loads of great ideas and tips. Kiting and launching skills are key to being successful with a PPG, and the information crosses directly to PG pilots as well. I give this book 2 hearty thumbs up. I just wish this book was available back when I started. I learned a bunch of things I never knew. In retrospect they make perfect sense. About the Author
Jeff Goin soloed his first aircraft, a glider, 2 years before he could legally drive. Aviation then became his passion and vocation, eventually landing him in the left seat of a 737. Flying light airplanes and helicopters was his main form of fun flight until discovering powered paragliding. That changed everything. It unleashed an exuberance for flight like no other form had. Besides delving deep into paramotoring, he founded the U.S. Powered Paragliding Association and served in other capacities to help insure the sport's continued success. He writes regularly for the industry leading UltraFlight Magazine and has contributed to several other ultralight-related publications.

Very satisfied

First, let me describe myself as it pertains to the sport so you know where I'm coming from with this review. I'm very much a novice. I just did my first solo flight a week prior to writing this review.
I was looking for a "text book" that I could reference and study as I hopefully progress. This book is just what I was hoping to find. I wasn't sure the sport had a big enough market for someone to put a book together like this but I'm pleased that it is. This book is very thorough and quite literally provides instruction from the ground up. In addition, the book is full of good pictures that just make it fun rather than a just a boring text.
I imagine that even an experienced pilot would benefit from this book and if instructors aren't issuing this book to their students, they should be.

It truly lives up to expectations.

OK I bought this book a few months ago - and I must admit I was a little skeptical. I had read a lot of glowing reviews about this book and thought that it couldn't possibly live up to the hype. But it did.
I am a paraglider pilot - been doing it for about 10 years, and I wanted to get a paramotor so I could fly on those days when free flight wasn't possible. Powered paragliding is similar to paragliding, but different enough that I wanted a reference book to cover all those minor points that would take years to discover.
I was really impressed with the quality of presentation in the book, the lovely graphics, and the content that takes you from a complete newbie, to a knowledgeable PPG pilot.
Of course, this book should be used as a supplement to a training course with a certified instructor - dont use it as a DIY course. you'll only hurt yourself and blow a fortune on broken props.
But, this book on Powered Paragliding is the gold standard upon which all others are judged - you cannot go wrong investing in a copy of this book.

Great source of information. I am new to the sport and the book gave much insight in the way that is easy to understand. Really nice and entertaining to read also. I read "the art of paragliding" from the same author before this one. Also a great book for people who are interested in this sport.
